Food talk

My boyfriend is a really good cook and is really smart when it comes to food, so it is always amusing watching Food Network with him. He always has all of these interesting things to put in when he sees something or when someone on a show says something that he doesn't agree with.

One show that really bugs him a lot is the Ten Dollar Meals show. He doesn't like watching or listening to her at all. I'm not really a fan either. He mostly gets annoyed with how she repeats things that she has already said before, but then again I have that problem myself...

You know...... I enjoyed Carla Hall on Top Chef but on The Chew she really is a weeeee bit too much personality, you know? LOL the show is basic mediocre background fodder for me, nothing earth-shattering and not horribly offensive, and I like watching people cook so there's that. I have it on while doing other things but I don't have to pay attention to it and can glance up on occasion. I don't mind Daphne Oz (though she really does dress frumpy a lot of the time, which is puzzling to me) and the rest of the gang is okayyyyy (again, in small doses) but Carla just always seems wayyyy too caffeinated. lol

These are getting passe now but this one did make me laugh...

Make it a complete meal by leaving a bag of groceries on the table when
your guests arrive, along with some pots & pans so they can cook the meal
at your dinner party.
BOOM.

Don't judge me. lol

Rachael & Guy observations:

1) really lame "celebrities"
2) Taylor Dayne's face, WTF?
3) Aaron Carter looks really really harsh

I *only* watched it because there was literally NOTHING on tv. hahah

Rachael Vs. Guy Cook-Off Show to Debut January 1

Are you ready for a battle royale in food world? Forget Iron Chef, the real television smackdown is set to happen between Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri when their new show, Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook Off, debuts on the Food Network this January 1. A few details are starting to come out about the show, which will feature two-teams of pseudo-celebs (think Joey Fatone and Coolio) dubbed Team Rachael and Team Guy. The celeb chefs will work as coaches as the teams square off to win $50,000 for charity (contestants will be eliminated in each episode). Check out a video preview here, and stay tuned for finale, which will feature a battle judged by our very own Tim and Nina Zagat.
